Ahmad Abdulrazzaq Iraq

About the Artist

Ahmad Abdulrazzaq currently lives in exile in Damascus, Syria while awaiting his refugee visa to the United States. After the US invasion of Iraq, Ahmad reports that the situation of living day-to-day became difficult and he decided to leave for Syria to improve his chances of survival. Although Ahmad currently resides in Syria, he find himself feeling lost and contemplating the meaning of success in the world.

Painting has always been Ahmad's escape from the world, as when immersed in his art, he is able to take refuge in just perfecting the piece at hand. Professionally, Mr. Abdulrazzaq has a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Institute of Fine Arts, Baghdad and taught at the Institute of Applied Arts, in Damascus. He had solo exhibitions: “Memories,” “Alphabet’s Performance,” "Free Hand" “Suggestions” between Iraq and Syria for the last 12 years. Mr. Abdulrazzaq's work has also been a part of many group exhibitions in Australia and Denmark. He represented Iraq in writing the 23rd Chapter of Al-Sham Holy Koran. Ahmad also received honor shields and gold medals on several occasions, designed and painted several literary works and magazines covers, and holds a first place in the silent auction at the Canadian Embassy Gallery entitled Perceptions 2011.
