Bidonville, After the Earthquake
list price: $425 | Discount: 52% | Views: 728
This painting portrays the destruction of the recent 7.0 earthquake that shook the small island of Haiti in 2010. In contrast to another recently featured painting depicting the town of Bidonville before the earthquake, this piece illustrates many of the town's colorful houses toppled over, with Haitians wandering throughout the ruins doing their best to make do with the aftermath.
Artist: Francillon Lameur
Francillon Lameur is 42 years old and has four children. Francillon, like one million other Haitians, lost his home in the 2010 earthquake that shook the small Caribbean island on January 24th. He currently makes a living by selling his paintings on the roadside to the small numbers of tourists who visit the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince.
