Nubian Woman

list price: $175 | Discount: 0% | Views: 1037

This painting beautifully illustrates the first people to live in civilization in Ethiopia. As this strong woman travels to the market with a basket on her head to purchase necessities for her family, she represents a typical day under the hot sun in Africa. This traditional Nubian woman is painted topless to depict the simplicity that was life during this time, and the turtle painted on her skirt represents her inner peace. Her face is purposely kept nondescript to focus on all Nubian women as a whole.
